Tau for tea.

Once again sorry for the huge gap in posts. But here's a picture of one of my battle suits. I'm really pleased how its turned out, especially the base as it cost next to nothing at all. Rather than using flock I've used green tea leaves and peppermint tea leaves mixed to get a natural looking blend of grass, and the log is just a bit of random stick that my 4 year old daughter likes to bring home.......... Cheers Tilly, daddy loves ya. Now it needs a good spray of matt varnish but that'll happen when I can be bothered to go to shops ;-).
Oh yeah and I still need to paint the rim of the base green too but got interrupted by a 4 year old so by the next post it will be done as I'll have the full team done by then, I'm just putting the finishing touches on the last suit so I should have them posted up within the week I promise.
So as usual leave me a comment to tell me what you think.
So till next time...........Oorah.

  1. Nice work! Love how the colours pop, are you using warp stone glow?

The base is an inspired choice, I'm going to have a go at using tea leaves thanks to his post!

  2. Thanks ieuan, the bright green is a tamiya colour x-15, I love the colour but it does take a few coats but worth it in the end. The reason I started using it was because I had apot left from when I used to paint up polycarbonate body shells for tamiya r.c cars and since I'm a cheapskate I used it on my models rather than go get some scorpion green ( as it was back then anyway) and as a result, being a tight arse actually payed off lol.

if you're gonna use tea leaves make sure you brew them first, then dry them out in the bag on the radiator or in the airing cupboard, its far easier and quicker than ripping the bag open and spreading them out on paper and leaving out to dry. Trust me, I found that out the hard way :-/
