Keep on trukkin

Here's a quick post, I've decided that with the orks I'm gonna go quick and easy with the painting.........just like an ork really.
So here's my trukk thats only took me about 2.5 hours which is pretty bloody quick for me. Just a load of dry brushing with details picked out then washes applied to the bits that needed em, mainly the metals really.
So what do you guys think.
So till next time............ Oorah !!

Goodbye green Tau, HELLO GREENSKINS!!!

Greetings blogosphere, sorry for the ridiculously long time between blogs. I decided that I needed something FUN to play so I posted up on a local gaming club Facebook page that I had 1500pts of tau that I'd like to trade for the same in orks and BLAM, I got someone straight away and we made the trade. I really couldn't be happier with the greenskins and the projects I've got in store for them.
I promise I'll post pics more often too this time. I received 2 if the old trukks but since they're a bit on the small side I pulled them apart and made 1 from both of them. I wish I had taken some before pics but hindsight is a wonderful thing don't you think.
Here are a couple if pis if it. I still don't have a decent camera so I'm still using my phone so I apologise for that. I know its not the greatest trukk conversion out there but I'm pretty happy with it. The orks are only for pick up games so I'm not trying to impress anyone really but at the same time I want something that's not gonna get me laughed at :-).
So what do you think. Good or bad criticism welcomed.
So till next time...........OORAH.

Plasma cannon.....well sort of

Here's a wip of my plasma cannon guy. Just need to base him and do the decal on his shoulder pad but to be honest, I'm waiting till I get the army fully painted then I'm gonna batch decal.......well that's the plan anyway.

So what do you guys think.

So till next time...... Oorah.

Tau for tea.

Once again sorry for the huge gap in posts. But here's a picture of one of my battle suits. I'm really pleased how its turned out, especially the base as it cost next to nothing at all. Rather than using flock I've used green tea leaves and peppermint tea leaves mixed to get a natural looking blend of grass, and the log is just a bit of random stick that my 4 year old daughter likes to bring home.......... Cheers Tilly, daddy loves ya. Now it needs a good spray of matt varnish but that'll happen when I can be bothered to go to shops ;-).
Oh yeah and I still need to paint the rim of the base green too but got interrupted by a 4 year old so by the next post it will be done as I'll have the full team done by then, I'm just putting the finishing touches on the last suit so I should have them posted up within the week I promise.
So as usual leave me a comment to tell me what you think.
So till next time...........Oorah.

Deathwing hoooooooo

I've got 3 squads if deathwing terminators to do so here's the first squad almost finished (barring the crux terminatus pads). I decided to go with regular marine helmets rather than the termy ones as I think that they just look cooler and I didn't have any termy powerfist arms, only the deathwing ones from the upgrade sprus so I had to do some cutting and splicing and dicing of the deathwing sword arms I had and some marine powerfist  arms and voila; instant terminator powerfist arms with a bit more character to them. Now hopefully when my other 10 terminator legs and torsos arrive from eBay I'll have a squad of powerclaw termies and a squad of thunder hammer & storm shield termies. My buddy Carl us letting me dive into his bits box tomorrow for termy arms :-). God I love that guy.

So here's the first squad (before primer and paint)

Let me know what you think so far.

W.I.P Plasma cannon dude.

I decided that in one of my tactical squads I needed, ok ok I WANTED plasma cannon guy but I didn't have one. Bad times. So I had an idea. I may not have had any plasma cannons but I did have some plasma guns in my bits box and thought about sticking them together to make a big one, but then decided against it and thought it would look pretty cool to see a marine with 2 plasma guns and count it as having a cannon. After all 2 guns are stronger than 1........right?

Paintathon

Well i set my self a challenge the other month to paint at least one kill point a month as im sick of having unpainted armies when i play 40k (well, when i get chance to play that is).

I think its safe to say that ive been doing quite well. This post is going to be quite picture heavy as ive done pretty well. A couple of models were already painted but ive FINISHED the squads to make the kill points (apart fromchaplain Cypher of course as he is a whole kill point on his own (-; ).

Ive been into the hobby since near the end of 4th, so i was about 25, but only started painting my models a year ago after reading up on painting moldels from alot of blogs, and to be honest, if it wasnt for reading other peoples blogs for tips and tricks i dont think i would've ever started. But now i have started and am improving with each model i paint i still read a lot of blogs to keep me motivated, as i dont think i would have pulled my finger out to get my toys finished if it wasn't for the inspiration i get from seeing all the great FINISHED models i see on the blogosphere (even just the odd one off models people paint for the sake of doing a different colour marine). I especially want to thank Ron from, from the warp as its his blog that motivates me A LOT, his painting is great and his advice is even better. Even with the cutbacks in posts due to his house having a fight with a flying tree his blog is still pure gold. Hope you get sorted soon Ron and get a brand new geek space to mess up again.

Anyway folks heres the models ive got done in the last 2 months. (Except for the razor back though, i did that a year ago)

And yes i am quite smug of my efforts :-)

P.S Thanks again Ron for kranking out great models and blog articles that have helped me get these bad boys done. Only 4 speeders a rhino ,a land speeder 20 scouts 5 assault marines 20 marines Ezekiel and a tech marine to do now..................................... oh god help me lol.

THEN i can start on finishing my Tau.

I really wish i hadnt tried doing a lightning effect on this guys sword, i think i might go back to him and drybrush some zenithal effecsts instead like the other guys weapons. Oh well, nothing ventured, nothing gained as they say.

The razorback is the first model i ever painted so its not quite upto scratch with the rest.

So please leave me a comment/criticism/advice.........your call, i welcome it all

So till next time.....................Oorah!!!!
