Imperial fists scout

So here's the start of the next scout squad I've started. I've decided to go for imperial fists for this squad because I've always loved the imperial fists colour scheme. Painting yellow can be a royal pain in the arse but I've never painted anything with a yellow scheme before so I thought....... Ahhhhh why not.

Luckily for.me.I still.have some Iyanden Darksun foundation paint so I starred with that. Then I thought to myself it actually looks pretty nice so rather than layer up to a bright vibrant yellow, I washed it with nuln oil, applied another thin layer then highlighted with sunburst yellow. A job well done I think. I'm really pleased with it. I then did the cloth in desert yellow washed with nuln oil then highlighted with desert yellow.

I'm pretty pleased with it to be honest, apart from the combat blade. That needs re painting as it's just a pile of poo.

Just the.sarge, 2 snipers and a missile launcher guy to do now.

Let me know what you think guys.

Si till next time............ Oorah!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dark angel scouts.

Hi guys. I've got 20 space marine scouts that I'll never actually use so I've decided to paint them up and then sell them off on ebay. I've got to say I've really enjoyed painting these guys and I'm a bit sorry to say goodbye to them. Especially when I've done such a good job on.them too. Lol.

So as always, please leave your feedback and let me know what you think.

So till next time............ Oorah!!!!!!!!!

Grey hunters.

Hi guys, here's what I've managed to get put together before I ran out of legs doh. Hopefully I'll be able to get my grubby little hands on some sooner rather than later but we'll see.

I just live the space wolf range, they're what I imagine when I think of space marines - rough a rugged and full of attitude.

I'm also pretty happy with my Wulfen dude, hes the one leaning back howling and wielding 2 chainswords. Bad ass baby..... Bad ass.

So till next time OORAH!!!!

Hi guys, sorry there's not been any posts lately, I've not really done all that much due to work. I have made some grey hunters fir.my space wolves but I've bloody ran.out of bloody legs aaaaaaagggggggghhhhhhhh!!!!!!! I need to get my hands on 8 pairs of apace marine legs asap but it's not that easy when.you have no cash to do so. I'm gonna see if I can trade some stuff on some of the Facebook groups I'm a member of. Wish me luck. Oh and I'll get some pics up of the grey hunters I've built so far.

So till next time OORAH!!!!!

Face tutorial.

Right then, I said on Facebook that I was gonna attempt a tutorial on painting faces. So here it is. I don't claim to be an amazing golden daemon winning painter virtuoso type person by any means so don't expect any of that blending nonsense or wet pallets and a million different brushes cos I'm just way too lazy for that.

Right well let's get started.
First off you need to get your little plastic dude primed. I've gone with black.

Then sling a dark brown all over the skin. Also since its a space marine head I've drybrushed the neck bits with boltgun metal. You know, the neck armour bit thing.

Right then so after that's dry I use dwarf flesh (sorry don't know the new colour name) and basically highlight all the raised bits but leave all the creases, this gives the feel of natural shadows on the face. (And that's why you based the skin with brown. See? I'm not mad)

After that's dry, I go over with elf flesh (again I have no idea what the new colour is) on just the parts that natural light would catch, so like the nose, ears, brow, top of cheek bones etc.

Then all that's left is the hair and teeth, pretty easy bits these, just drybrushed the hair a few different shades of brown adding a bit of orange at the end to make it ginger and then being careful adding some bleached bone to the teeth.
Note that I've left the eyes well alone, I don't care how much of a good painter you are, as soon as eyes are added, that monster brutal killing machine of an astartes you've just painted ends up looking kinda retarded, so just leave them. It still looks good. The only time eyes should be don,e is on psykers when your looking to achieve an OSL effect.

So there you have it. Hope it helped.

If not............ then I apologise for my failure and I will commence face palm in 3.2.1.

So till next time.......... OORAH!!!!!!!

Plasma pistol hmm

Just a quick post, here's one of the plasma pistol toting khorne berzerkers of the renegade space wolves The Deathpack for my upcoming chaos army. Now I'm not sure if I'm happy with it or not. I've done this before with greens and blues and had pretty good results but I'm not sure with the red/orange plasma glow I've done here.

Let me know what you think, I'm not going for a mega detailed look on these guys, I'm just painting them up quickly as possible so I have a decentish looking army quickly while I work on my space wolves and orks. Either way I'm not gonna change it though cos I'm just too lazy. Lol.

So till next time....... OORAH!!!!!!

Da looted wun

Hi all. After my last game with my orks against a buddy of mine, I used burna boyz and absolutely loved them.....except for the fact I ran them without transport. So I managed to get my hands on a leman russ and a chimera to make a couple if looted wagons armed with a skorcha.

I decided to start with the chimera and came up with this bad boy. I cut it in half and lengthened it by about 3 inches because....er....well just because really. Added some platforms and scrap and just some full on orkyness really. Just need to prime it and paint it now but as usual I can't just stick to one project at time as I've started on a small 1500pts chaos force based on renegade space wolf khorne berzerkers and renegade (nit fallen) dark angel's plague marines and nurgle bikers.

But anyhow, let me know what you think.

So till next time........OORAH!!!!!!!!

A.splash of colour for The Deathpack

Just a quick one here really. Here's the first of the Deathpack painted. Let me know what you all think.

So till next time....... OORAH!!!

The Deathpack.

The Deathpack, is the start of my chaos army using up the old metal space wolf bodies I have. And what's more fitting for renegade space wolves than joining khornes alliance in raw and savage butchery. Yes that's right folks, these bad boys are gonna be my berzerkers.

Interrogator chaplain badass

Hi there people. Back again finally after a long time. Gonna keep it short and sweet. Here's my interrogator chaplain. A friend of mine donated him to me but he had been amputated from the elbows down so I basically scrambled about in my bits box and came up with what you see here. Hope you enjoy peeps.

As usual leave any feed back good or bad (yes I know it's not based but I'm gonna wait till my full deathwing is painted then base them all together. )

So till next time (promise it'll be sooner rather than later this time) oorah!!!

Da boyz

Right then, this blog is gonna literally be an orks blog from now on with the space marine bits and bobs thrown in for good measure.

Now here's my first boy done and dusted. I'm pretty pleased with it to be honest and it only took about an hour and a half to paint up including drying time, which is what I'm after with my irks force. They're supposed to be just a bit of fun to be honest. Just how they're meant to be. So no golden daemon efforts on these guys then eh.

This was my test model as I didn't really want to batch paint up a mob of boys only to be disappointed with the end result. But if im totally honest, I wish I'd have taken the risk now. Oh well we live and learn I suppose.

As usual, I ask for criticism, good or bad.

So till next time.............. Oorah!!!!!!!!!

W.I.P ginger Italian

Just a wip of my next commission, its coming along nicely but my friend has well and truly bodged the hand that's holding the standard and there's no way I can make a good job of it paintjob wise so I'm gonna put a hand guard around I think.

So till next time..........Oorah.

Italian ginner is done.

Hey guys (and gals but, well you know, probably not) I finished the the standard bearer for my buddy that he commissioned me to do and I've got to say I'm pretty pleased with it. Rather than try and fashion a hand guard for the hand holding the standard pole to hide the shocking green stuff work I opted for the x-acto knife instead and cut and shaved instead. This was also my first attempt at a banner too. Fantasy models are pretty fun to paint I must say and I'm looking forward to the next model that he throws my way.

Oh and I've decided to add a random picture of my baked beans and black pudding pizza I made last night as it was all kinds of epic.

So till next time.......... Oorah!!!!

Deathwing!!!!!! With techmarines?

Yes that's right boys & girls, techmarines alongside the deathwing. After reading the Dark Angels new codex I was a bit excited ( ok ok I was like a giddy little school girl ) to read that you can take a techmarine for every HQ choice in your army and they don't take up a slot. You see the thing is, techmarines are my favorite little faction within space marines so I just had to include 2 in my deathwing army............But, I didn't want them to look odd amongst the rest of the army so I managed to get my hands on some extra termies (thanks rich) and started converting them to fit in amongst the big guys of the 1st company.

Here's my list.

Belial with lightning claws

Interrogator chaplain in termy armour with porta rack

Techmarine with lightning claw & storm bolter

Techmarine with lightning claw & storm bolter

5 deathwing with lightning claws & cyclone missile launcher in a landraider crusader with multi-melta

5 shooty deathwing with flamer.

5 shooty deathwing with assault canon

1500 on the nose.

The plan is to stick Belial, the Chaplain & the techmarines in the landy with the rest of the lightning claw dudes and rip someone a new one.

So as usual would love to get some feedback on the conversions and also the list.

So till next time .......... Oorah.

Leopard print grrrrrrr

A few weeks ago a friend of mine asked if I would paint up a character model for him for a campaign he's involved in at his local gaming club. So since I wanted his cash I naturally obliged, but then he went and told me that the models colour scheme was entirely up to me ++ happy days ++ BUT, yrs there's always a but isn't there. He tells me that leopard skin has to be incorporated into the model.

You B@$#&*D !!!!!

So I went ahead and rose to the challenge and painted it up for him and it turned out great..........until I did the bloody cape in orange........I couldn't of got it any more wrong so out came the google search and I found a natural leopard print of various browns. I repainted the cape in a number of different browns, and, YES I CRACKED IT. Leopard print cape for the general dude for whatever geeky goings on campaign my friend is playing in.

I have to say that I'm pretty pleased with it and so is my friend, I actually got some good feedback from his club too so a chufty badge for me I think :-).

So as usual I apologise for the rubbish photos (still need to get a decent camera) and please leave feedback, good or bad.

So till next time........... Oorah !!!!!!!!
